We continue to work in close partnership with:

Association Keiser Initiative for Uganda

Association Keiser was set up by Ghyslaine Keiser in 2007 to help support the fishing village of Kasenyi – Kasese in Uganda with a variety of challenges related to health including water treatment, renovation and maintenance of the clinic, with education including the creation and continuation of the village kindergarten, the required teaching and educational materials and support with social wellbeing issues.

The Association supports the villages located within the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bushenyi district and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A J Tours and specifically Pascal continue to work closely with Ghyslaine, supporting all of the work within the QE National Park communities. In fact, Pascal is so much a part of the community of Kasenyi he has created Euphorbia Safari Lodge.

Worldwide Veterinary Services UK

Worldwide Veterinary Service provides free expert care to animals in need all over the world. They do this by sending vets where they are needed most, training them to increase the standard of care globally and by shipping urgent aid supplies worldwide, every week of the year.

In 2007 Worldwide training services (WTS), WVS educational arm was launched with a pilot trip to Buhoma, in the Kanungu District of South- Western Uganda. The First WTS team consisted of two teachers (Jacqui Foulger and Anne Green), a veterinary Nurse (Joy Howell), the WVS international projects coordinator (Hannah Westen) and Jobogo Pascal (as logistics manager with AJ tours) and their objective was to assess animal health and welfare and kickstart an educational programme covering animal welfare and conservation issues.

The following year WVS sent out a group of two vets, a vet nurse and two teachers and then in December 2009 Luke Gamble (CEO of WVS) travelled with AJ tours who managed all of the travel logistics for the TV production Vet Adventure Uganda. Take a look here:

In Luke’s words (from his blog):

“This is definitely a moment to flag up the amazing patience, dedication, work ethic and thoroughness of Pascal and Andrew from AJ Tours who have painstakingly organized all the logistics for this trip. Really great guys and if anyone ever comes to Uganda through WVS or otherwise, you’d be making a mistake not to have them looking out for you and making sure everything goes to plan.”

Mission Rabies UK

Mission Rabies is a charity that was initially founded by Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), a United Kingdom -based charity group with a focus on animal welfare. Mission Rabies has a One Health approach driven by research, to eliminate dog bite transmitted rabies.

Mission Rabies, launched a rabies vaccination campaign in northern Uganda in 2015 and AJ tours provided a logistics vehicle for the trip. Owner Pascal Jobogo attended as a volunteer. On their return to the same district in 2016 AJ tours provided logistical support to the Mission Rabies Coordinator and subsequently for the 2018 and 2019 tours of Kasese and then Kabale, Kisoro and Kanunugu (including Bwindi) respectively.

The return trip in 2020 has now been postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Daktari Andorra, Spain

The Andorran Association of Veterinary Cooperation in East Africa, Daktari, is a non-profit making organization and the consolidation of a veterinary project that began in 2010, when Jesús Muro - an Andorran vet - went to work in Uganda as a volunteer with the support of the Government of Andorra and the Association of Farmers and Cattlemen of Andorra .

The goal was to help develop communities close to protected areas, where endangered species such as the Mountain Gorilla are found. The main aim of Daktari is its struggle against infectious and parasitic diseases of livestock, particularly against zoonoses. The term ‘Zoonoses’ includes those diseases that can be transmitted to people and have negative consequences on their health. They also work to decrease conflicts between farmers and conservation authorities. Little by little, Jesus enthused a number of people and entities so that the project has been repeated every year, crossing borders to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Pascal first met Jesús in 1987 when he was working in TheDemocratic Republic of Congo DRC as a tour guide and Jesús was making his first trip to Africa.

Years later they met again in Uganda when Daktari partnered with Mission Rabies in 2018 in Kasese. Since this time they have become great friends and as a regular visitor to Uganda with his projects Jesús now uses AJ tours for all logistical support and Euphorbia Safari Lodge ( owned by Pascal) in Kasenyi as their base.
