Golden Monkeys

It is well worth adding on a trek to see the rare golden monkeys while you are at Volcanoes National Park.  If wildlife and particularly primates interest you these beautiful monkeys with their tree swinging antics are not to be missed.

Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkey troops that can be visited by tourists. Trekking golden monkeys and gorillas is a similar experience – in that you go in a small group of no more than eight people and you can spend one hour with the monkeys once you find them.
